Performance Measurement and Improvement performance measurement through supply chain management
Performance measurement is a fundamental building block of successful organizations. A well designed performance measurement framework ensures both; sustainability of success and continuous improvement of performance. The objective of supply chain management is to create value for the whole supply chain network, including the end customers, not only for some entities within the chain. Many drawbacks prevent the conventional performance measurement systems from making a significant contribution to the development and improvement of the supply chain management. In an attempt to fill this gap, an enhanced process-based approach for measuring, managing and hence improving supply chain performance is developed. The proposed framework is dynamic, continuous and hybrid. It integrates various sciences, methodologies and tools namely; Systems Thinking, Strategic Planning, Optimization, Fuzzy Logic, Trend Impact Analysis, Balanced Scorecards, SCOR model and Theory of Constraints Thinking Processes into a cohesive performance measurement system. The proposed framework can be generalized and applied to other systems similar to supply chains in key characteristics and dimensions of complexity.

Supply Chain Quality Management to Improve Organizational Performance performance measurement through supply chain management
Till 1980s, the products were not very complex and hence companies could manufacture them by their own.Hence the TQM philosophies hovered around improving quality within the companies[Dmitry Ivanov]. But now competition is not only found at the firm level. Business competition now exists between Supply Chains. This level of competition requires a much greater level of coordination among chains or networks of suppliers, distributors, producers, and customers. Therefore, quality management practices, techniques and tools must be spread throughout the whole supply chain to improve organizational performance.

Partners Selection and Performance Measurement in Supply Chain performance measurement through supply chain management
Despite the existence of the concept of Supply Chain for decades, very little is known about how companies come together and which factors they take into consideration when selecting their business partners. Furthermore, when operating in the Supply Chain, companies focus more on efficiently utilizing company resources than effectively satisfying customers’ needs. The aim of this research was to test and scrutinize the factors that suppliers, manufacturers and distributors/retailers consider most important in the decision processes of choosing partners in a Supply Chain. It investigated if Focal Companies in each of these categories (suppliers, manufacturers and retailers) take the same factors into consideration and identified metrics which companies focus on, in measuring the performance of a Supply Chain in terms of effectiveness and efficiency of Supply Chain processes. A webmail questionnaire was developed and administered to 525 companies within the forestry, manufacturing and retail industries in Sweden, of which 101 were answered giving a response rate of 19.2%. The empirical findings have been analyzed in comparison with existing theories and conclusions reached.

Supply Chain strategy Alignment and Manufacturing performance performance measurement through supply chain management
Performance measurement is a vital part of any successful organization. For many companies, the critical performance metrics determined based on their supply chain strategies. However, companies do not have a clear understanding of their adopted supply chain strategy and are incapable of introducing the most critical metrics for measuring their performance. This study determines the supply chain strategy adopted by ketchup companies in Malaysia; it also specifies the most critical factors for measuring companies’ performance based on Balanced Scorecard (BSC) perspectives. The final part of the book covers the results of comparative performance measurement for six ketchup manufacturers; further it investigates the effect of companies’ supply chain strategy alignment with product type as well as companies’ process structure and manufacturing techniques alignment with product type on firms’ performance. The study will be useful for companies' policymakers and professionals in the field of performance measurement systems or anyone else who may be considering aligning KPI and supply chain strategies in a manufacturing environment.

ASSESSING RESILIENCE AS A PARTICULAR CASE OF SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT performance measurement through supply chain management
RESILIENCE IN POWER GRIDS This thesis presents a linear programming model to assess power grid resilience as a particular case of Supply Chain Management. Power grids share basic characteristics with Supply Chain Management. Since resilient behavior is not an individual or specific system''s attribute but a holistic phenomenon based on the synergic interaction within complex systems, resilience drivers in power grids were identified. Resilience is a function of Reliability, Recovery capability, Vulnerability and Pipeline Capacity. In order to embed heterogeneous variables into the model, parameterization of resilience drivers were developed. A principle of improving resilience through redundancy was applied in the model by using a virtual redundancy in each link which allows reliability improvement throughout the entire network. Vulnerability was addressed through a quantitative standard and mitigated through security allocation.Decision makers are enabled to improve overall power grid performance through reliability development as well as security allocation at the more strategic links identified by the optimal solutions.

Supply Chain Management performance measurement through supply chain management
Efficient supply chain management (SCM) is recognized as a strategic tool for companies to enhance their performance in terms of quality, time, speed and reliability while minimizing total costs. Based on resource-based view (RBV) and knowledge-based view of the firm (KBV)perspectives, supply chain is considered as an organization’s strategic asset to achieve competitive advantage. Knowledge management (KM) is a crucial requirement for the organizations to leverage their knowledge in today’s turbulent business environment. Knowledge acquisition and knowledge application are two important aspects of knowledge management that should seriously be taken into consideration by all organizations. This work investigates the linkage between SCM and KM. In specific, this work was carried out to empirically examine the relationships between supply chain process knowledge and organizational performance. Supply chain learning also has been investigated as another factor which affects organizational performance. Environmental knowledge was tested as the moderating variable in the relationship between supply chain process knowledge and organizational performance.
